Het zal de 0,1% een zorg wezen
The top 0.1% have probably organized to say- Let’s deny it as LONG as we can. This will get rid of 6 billion people and they’ll never know it was us.

Suicide to save capitalism?
…it’s no exaggeration to say that this is the most critical moment in human history… closing the book on capitalism… by replacing the culture of “possessive individualism” with a culture of sharing, community and love, is the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced. We may very well fail… But we still have a chance… I just cannot believe that humanity is going to commit collective eco-suicide just to save capitalism.

Oorlogsurgentie
We are living in a state of planetary emergency. To have a chance of averting the collapse of civilization and the destruction of the natural world, we must mobilize our society on the scale of World War II to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions [1] at wartime speed. The fact that we have already heated the world to such dangerous levels and show little sign of stopping, is evidence of widespread institutional failure. We cannot expect anyone else to save us. We must organize to save ourselves.

We lopen hopeloos achter
But as more knowledge on abrupt changes is discovered, one thing is becoming crystal clear: Climate change policy today has become severely dated, and we need to catch up (…) One only hopes we can spread that crucial knowledge before abrupt changes begin. (…) …the prospect of future abrupt climate changes, asking whether changes may take place “so fast that the time between when a problem is recognized and when action is required shrinks to the point where orderly adaptation is not possible?”

On a planet 4C hotter, all we can prepare for is extinction
We need to get prepared for four degrees of global warming… But the idea that we could adapt to a 4C rise is absurd and dangerous…perhaps the beginning of our extinction. What are we to do? All our policies to date to tackle global warming have been miserable failures…The main effect of the EU’s emissions trading scheme has been to transfer about €30bn or more from consumers to Europe’s biggest polluters… The answer? …a single global cap on greenhouse gas emissions… The permit auction would raise about $1 trillion per year, enough to finance a spread of solutions.
