“Onderwerp van debat” komt er echter in de praktijk op neer dat we dit
potentieel klimaatgevaar gewoon negeren, volg je even mee deze discussie op reddit: (hieronder foto en transcriptie van de tekst)
Does anyone have a link or reputable information about methane released
from permafrost and what the IPCC is saying about it, recently? What is
the current official situation?
I think a fair assessment of the official status is that: No one really knows.
There are many places releasing methane and as the globe warms, more
open up. Despite growing evidence of it’s impact, rapid release of methane is
left out from official estimates. I don’t think the IPCC or any official organization will acknowledge the danger posed by methane until rapid methane released into the atmosphere can be reliably measured.
So basically we will not account for rapid methane until it happens,
sadly it may be too late then. For now we must ignore the potential
